Gender Representation: Female

In Rap, female rappers are seen to be not as dominant as male rappers as girls are perceived weaker than men. When you see a female rapper you will most likely see them with a wig, their nails done, make-up done, and with expensive clothing. Most female rappers are seen as sex figures as most of them get plastic surgery and fillers to be “beautiful”. This in return influences young women to want to be like them and change their bodies so they can be “beautiful” as well. Female rappers mostly rap about perverted topics such as sex and curse words. Like male rappers, the things that female rappers rap about is also “non-family friendly”.

Demographic Conventions

Demography is the statistical study of human population. The study refers to age gender and race. The major categories of demography are deaths, births, and migration; These produce population stability and change. My main purpose for demography is the economic market aspect of it. Using this would allow me to see the type of audience that is attracted to my magazine.

Why I chose to do a Rap Magazine?

I chose to do a rap magazine because I listen to rap music a lot. Therefore, I feel that I know a lot on the topic so my magazine would come out extraordinary. Also I feel that rap music is a big new trend and my magazine would attract  a wider audience. There are many different styles and types of rap that I can integrate into my magazine so it has something interesting for any and all readers.

Magazine Design: Color Scheme

After evaluating main combinations of colors I believe this color scheme is the best for my magazine in order for it to stand out. The bright blue and pink will attract more readers while the black will make wording stand out against the bright colors.
